Listen… I know what you’re thinking. Yet another list of tasteless snacks. Absolutely not. I struggle with healthy options because I to love to snack on no good for me foods. I learned that if you prep your snacks a head of time and make them easy and quick to choose you will likely eat them more. A lot of items you will see are things I personally typically have at home and are cheap to purchase.
One of the most important benefits of organizing your space is reduced STRESS. Simply having a more efficient system to keep track of your papers, appointments, and personal belongings can help minimize stress-influenced conditions. Keeping your house clean and organized can be a pain, and sometimes its just don right hard to make time each day to get stuff done.
For me organization is key, keeping things organized and in a common place can save tons of time and make you feel less stressed about your clutter. The Process of getting organized helps you familiarize yourself with what you currently have, making it a great fresher so you are not buying the same hand soap 15 more times over when you already have 30 under your sink! Here are some things I do at home to help me stay organized.
Use a magazine holder to hold your aluminum foil, zip lock bags, wax paper, and more. Either mount it to your cabinet doors or simply keep it in your cabinet and keep all of the boxes standing up and out of the way!
Under Sink Organization:
I recently found out that I was not utilizing my under sink space by only using the bottom level of the cabinet. Leaving things stacked terribly and the cabinet is left stuffed and hard to find exactly what you need. Then I got organizers for under my sink and my life has been changed, I finished with more room than I started with which is what we are doing this for right?!
FIFO Your Pantry:
First in first out. Every time you go grocery shopping bring all of your old food to the front and your newly bought food to the back, this will help you use up old food you didn’t even know you had!
Use a magnetic board for your fridge, use for a shopping list. This will ensure you buy exactly what you need and help with useless shopping. This one from amazon also has a weekly list to keep you even more organized. I would add magnetic pockets to keep all of your coupons there as well so it a one stop shop before you leave for your grocery trip.
Linen closets always seem to be over flowing and hard to keep organized. Start by storing your sheet inside the matching pillow cases. Use bins to store rags, supplies, or even toiletries. I just bought these bins from amazon to use in my linen closet.
Keep bulk items in stack-able bins. This eliminates bulky boxes and you can see exactly what you are looking for.
Side Of Fridge Storage:
This hack you can either DIY to get the exact size you are looking for. You can find tons of ideas on Pinterest for this. Use the side of your fridge for extra storage, some use this for spices but you can make it work for you and use it for anything you please. This one I found on amazon.
Microwaves are personally my least favorite thing to clean, always caked on food from months of use. I found a perfect solution that does not involve vigorous scrubbing! Here is how you do it and I promise you will not clean your microwave any other way.
Cut a lemon in half
Fill a microwavable safe bowl or container with water
Squeeze the juice of both of the lemons into the water then drop the lemon halves into the water as well.
Microwave on high for 10 min
DO NOT OPEN THE MICROWAVE WHEN THE TIME IS UP.
Leave the door closed for another 20 min, the steam will loosen all of the caked on food.
After the second 10 min is complete, simply wipe with a rag and see how easy it is to wipe clean
Clogged drain? Try this baking soda and vinegar hack!
Pour 1 cup of baking soda down your clogged drain
Follow by 1 cup of vinegar
wait 5 to 10 min to allow the vinegar to work through the baking soda
Now flush with 2 cup of extremely hot water
Depending on how clogged your drain is, repeat as many times as necessary.
Animal hair filled carpet? This trick changed my life. simply take a squeegee to the carpet and use it like you would on your window and shower and watch how much stubborn hair hiding in your carpet you will find. It will astound you how much hair your vacuum misses and this trick makes your carpet look brand new.

Plan ahead! Take inventory of what you have, and what you need before hand so you do not over buy. Bring a list with you with a utensil to cross items off your list, or you can download an app like anylist from the app store. This app can organize your list by department making it easier for shopping.
Utilize sales and coupons: There are tons of ways you can do this. Whether it be your local newspaper,app, or simply printing them at home there are plenty choices for you. I love an app called Coupons this app lets you see manufacture coupons that you can add on top of most store sales. It also lets you print them from home making it simple and easy. I also use the app called Flipp that lets you see the prices of your items at all stores so you can see who has the best deal for you.
Make healthy choices: Eating healthier foods can actually save you money, according to a study published in the Journal of the American Dietetic Association. The researchers found that when families went on weight loss diets, they not only lost weight but reduced their food budgets.The savings came from reducing portion sizes and from buying fewer of the high-calorie foods that tend to increase the amount spent at the grocery store. People tend to spend a lot on those “extras” foods that add calories but little nutritional value, like sodas, bakery items, and chips.
Go generic: Consider buying store brands instead of pricier national brands. Many grocery companies buy national-brand products made to their specifications and simply put their own label o n the products. Read the ingredient list on the label to be sure you’re getting the most for your money. I always shop generic, I find the store brands are just as good if not better!
Shopping in bulk: Try shopping in bulk! This is a great option for large families who shop more often than most, or even a small to average size families as well. Joining a bulk shopping club like Sam’s, Costco, or BJ’s can be cost-effective if you frequent the club regularly. Bulk purchases can be a great way to save money as long as they get used.
This is a segment where every month I’m going to talk about something or things that I am grateful for this month. This is mainly for myself I would just like to take the time at the end of every month to look back on all the positive things. This is for me to have a more positive mindset going in to the next month.
Without further ado, This month I am grateful for… good health. This is something that I think I take for granted most often. Is easy to let your health take a backseat when we’re in our day-to-day normal routines. I think that once the coronavirus got to be such a devastating virus and I began to many people all at very different ages losing their life’s. It began to really hit me how we are not invincible I am not invincible I could be just as susceptible to being sick as every other person on this planet. This made me really take a second look and how I treat my body. I am grateful that I have the body that I do, and that I am in good health. I took a foul to make sure that I treat my body with more respect and to take more steps to making sure I am maintaining the best level of health possible.
I am grateful for the food that I have in my pantry. Another thing the coronavirus has taught me is again how much we take for granted having the things that I have. I grew up and my family I didn’t have much and we had our fair share of waiting in food pantry lines for food for the week. Now that I’m an adult I am in a much better financial position this is not a worry of mine. This virus has really shed light on the homelessness problems across the world. Now making it even harder for them to find food. Making me feel sick to think of how many times I looked in my full panty, and full fridge and complained there was no food to eat. I will be more conscious of the way I buy my food and consume food. And I will start to donate food that I buy that I no longer want, or that I have no need for. We can all do a little part to make a difference.
And last but not least right now I am grateful for the freedom and time to do what I want. At first this stay at home order was hard for me, anxiety levels high and little to do at home but clean and exercise day, after day it began to really hit me. Although I am not working right now I realize that these few months has given me the time that I’ve always said that I never had. He gave me more time to spend with my significant other and my beautiful pets. Although we haven’t been able to see all of her family in my many nieces and nephews and I truly miss, we’ve been able to slow down for a bit and enjoy us. When this is all over when we get back into the grind of life I’m sure a part of me will miss being able to do things that I wanna do when I want to do them without being tied down to a 9-to-5 job. So I am enjoying the remainder of my time while I am still able to.
I’m looking forward to another month of growing and learning.
Apple cider vinegar is something that I have tried my absolute HARDEST to be able to take and enjoy but the flavor is hard to get past. These were a great alternative for me. The Galapagos Islands… This is THE DREAM place of mine since I was a kid. Scattered across the equator, the Galapagos Islands are especially famous for their unique wildlife and breathtaking scenery – a visit here is almost like travelling to a whole new, enchanting world. It is breathtakingly beautiful and unique. My dream would be to go island hopping by boat to visit some of there 12 islands. Each island is like visiting a different world, some having entire different species and landscape to the next. The trips can be as expensive as you can guess, so this one will stick to the dream vacation list… for now anyway.
Hawaii: As you can tell I love tropical places, I live in the Midwest can you blame me? Getting Married in Hawaii is a life goal. The warm water, the plentiful reefs, fish, turtles, whales, and barracuda make the beautiful Hawaii islands a great place to spend a lot of time in the water. With all the different things Hawaii has to offer, it surely ranks as the most beautiful place on Earth. I would love to be paddle boarding over the ocean or hiking in the mountains right about now.
Ireland: Well folks I’m not sure if you know this or not but your girl is Irish! I think it would be a really remarkable experience to visit a little bit of my own history. From storybook castles to magnificent gardens, wide open spaces to the bustle of international cities, breathtaking natural scenery to man made megalithic structures, Ireland is a must visit. There is such a range of thongs to do the possibilities are endless.
